G'day,

Ive been searching for dummy 18650 batteries so i can use single cell drivers on multi-series battery arrangement hosts.

Ive got 14500, 10440 and 16340 sized dummy's but no 18650 sized ones.

Does anyone know where i can find some?

Cheers!

Fiddy.

I make my own out of 80-cent hardware-store variety wooden rods and a length of wire.

I haven't ever seen one. I've made all my dummy batteries with threaded rod from the hardware store cut to size with a hacksaw and wrapped with shrink wrap tubing. A dremel or grinder is also helpful to bevel one end to make a sort of button top.

Can you just use two CR123 spacers, like these?
CR123A Size Dummy Cell - 0 Voltage for Flashlight spacer DUMMY-CR123A

Edit: Dang you guys are fast. :)

i knew that question was coming and i dont have an answer lol

All i can put it down to is, i need to buy a twice as many of the spacers if i buy the 16340 sized ones and just my personal preference.

Hey if you cant get them, a plastic white board marker pen has the same diameter as an 18650...you could cut that to size and add a metal rod. I did something similar for a 10440 and a 14500, although they were different sized pens! ;)

No, I mean get a rod just a bit smaller than 18mm wide. Hardware stores sell (usually around 4 foot lengths) various diameter round wood rods. I'm sure you've seen them before.

Cut a ~6.5cm length, run a length of wire from one end to the other. Secure the wire however you see fit. I used brass thumb tacks.

Total cost is about $2 for 18 of them.
