what battery for this Infrared driver.

that driver requires .9-4.5 volts . so one lithium should be fine, eg,. 18650..
make sure you heat sink that led.

You forget it's from china. It doesn't work like that :p

I did some looking on ebay, and this "3W" red is only 1.6W, this "3W" 940nm is only 1.4W.

So nevermind... their max current does seem to be around 1A, but if you want them to last for more than 100hours, you probably shouldn't run them at their max current.

But the 18650 is a 3V and the led is saying only with 1.5V~1.7V DC wouldn't damage it but if so can i use another 3V battery like the one that are the size of a AAA battery

since the driver is limiting the current, the voltage will adjust accordingly with the VI curve. The driver will turn the rest of the voltage into heat. Plus the 18650 is 4.2v when fully charged and 2.75 when flat (protected).

So can I the one that is the size of a AAA it say is a 3V.
Or can I use tree of the AAA 1.5V :thanks:

both options will work. the AAA size 3v is called a 10440. try and use a 14500 or 18650. you will get much longer run time

OK sorry for this but how do i connect everything I could see from the picture of the driver where is neg and pos but what goes on the bottom such as the positive of the battery and the where does the negative of the battery goes. And where exactly do I put the cables from the drive to the LED.
