Trust me on this one. Google a123 systems LiFePO4. That is what you will want to run this. The drain specs on those cells are unbelievable (30C minimum and some estimate even higher) and there has never been a documented case of them venting even under extreme load. They are very popular in RC applications so it will be easy to find someone who will assembled them in tabbed packs and the charging systems for packs are already available.

I suppose a guy could make a bank with these helios, LiFePO4 Does have it in its chemistry to perform high discharge without much heat.. I just wondered how it was against Lithium manganese (like the ones IMR makes).

Thanks for the tip.. I guess I can find some of these cells and bank (series 4, bank parralel from there).
the continous discharge current ratings for the 26650 model says 70A, with max of 120A for 10 seconds.. seems pretty impressive.

Im really only looking for 10 minutes or so of run time... the more the merrier, but those should do. (4 series, 4 parralel as a bank)

The 26650s are incredible and the nice part is if you want them cheap just buy a cordless drill battery pack and dissemble it. I cant remember what brand but if you do a search for a123 harvesting there is a high voltage pack out there that has a bunch of the true a123 26650 cells packed inside. I am sure you could sell any of the cells you dont use. Heck ill buy at least 1.
