I currently have a review on the flash torch.
http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/wicked-lasers-torch-99-review-61704.html

Anyway it works pretty good. However you only get a 10min battery life and it takes almost an hour to charge.... I purchased two batteries and I am glad I did.

However it would not be one of my reccomendations for you.

If you are going to buy a torch... you may as well consider one of these.
75W/55W/35W HID Xenon Flashlight Torch Spotlight Black | eBay

The reason I suggest that is because.. This flashlight will do everything the torch will and MORE. Yes this flashlight will burn things... I have one and it Burns just fine. Not quite as well as my torch... but it does start fires, cook eggs and melt plastic. The battery life on my HID is roughly an hour. Charge time is about 5 hours.

Anyway if you have any specific questions about the torch or HID... You can ask me directly.

Also I'd like to mention.. I had my HID within 4 days vs the 3 months I waited for my torch.

Thanks,
Jeff

I agree with Jeff, the torch is a pretty useless object :)

I think that "the torch" is the most useless shit that someone has been created.
Why i should spend more than 100 $ for a object that runs for only few minutes and light another object by radiating light?

U can search for a 100 W halogen 12V, a 12V battery and a parabola and u have "the torch", with less than 20 $.

yeah but i want to "wham" the power of light.
With a spotlight you can only focus the light on one direction. Okay you can light up anything in the spot....but the spot is so small!:(

I probably prefer the HID torch purely for it's startup. I love watching lamps warm up, although with these HID's they warm up very quickly.

In terms of heat output though, the torch would flog the HID torch. HID is much more efficient at turning power into VISIBLE light, whereas halogen lamps put out a LOT of IR instead.

A fun thing to try is getting a heap of red and blue lighting gels, and putting them infront of a light. There will be barely any light visible, but you'll still feel the heat. If you did this with the HID torch, you probably wouldn't feel any heat at all, since most of it is in the visible and UV range, compared to IR.

The runtime of the HID torch compared to WL's torch is a no brainer IMO.

Also, the HID bulb after turning it off looks awesome!
