Lasers + eyes = bad.

The millitary uses green laser disrupters, but they're carefully designed so that the MPE limit is not exceeded. Millitary tech for civilian peacetime use is never a good idea. Stick to a strobe light from party shops.

Not what I was saying. I was saying that I am a laser guy. So I don't know about flashlights. I think my reputation List of lasers and join date would have made that clear.

He wants a bright strobing flashight. (THE BEST ONE) Whatever that means.

I just don't know wear to look. My flashlight knowledge extenze as far as deal xtreme to get a host. I don't know anything about flashlights.....

Thanks

Oh, gotcha, my apologies! Can't be too careful though, you know. =)

I saw a DIY build a couple years ago where someone took the flash circuits from disposable cameras and mounted them inside a huge maglite host. The driver simply cycled through the various flashes to pulse about once a second. Would that be like what you're looking for? No idea if something like that is commercially available, but the diy one was blindingly bright.

Problem with strobe is that it blinds you and the person you point it at.

Yea I understand there are alot of idiots on here. Did not mean to be shity.......

I mean I have bought a couple flashlights off deal extreme And they were 3 mode. 1 being strobe......... I don't know what else he wants.

He wants something for self defense inside the house Because he does not have guns anymore. I told him a collapsible baton or a baseball bat would work just as good but he wants a flashlight lol.......

He heard of some military/SWAT. Strobe light that makes you sick. I read about it a long time ago but I don't remember where I saw it at. It's just the sequence of strobes and The brightness that just completely Disorient you.

If anyone could just point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Isn't there a flashlight forum..... I'm gonna look that up right now :)

Thanks

You could just drop a high-output diode like the SST-90 or the XM-L (or even a dual/triple XML) in a maglite host with a driver that has a pulse mode...

1000+ lumens outta be enough to dazzle anyone, including the person holding the host!

That would run you about 100-150$... or you could also buy a premade light... there's a bunch on kaidomain or DX

That olight is just an overpriced SST-90.

The diode is about 25-30$. 50$ for a good host, and another 50$ for a heatsink/driver... and you're looking at that light for 1/3 the price.

I don't think there is A flashlight everyone wants... some like em huge with 12 emitters, some prefer tiny keychain hosts that still pump out considerable light. For some, it's the throw distance, and others, having just a huge wall of light.

Some titanium lights sell upwards of a thousand bucks, as well...

AFAIK, the highest power emitters out there (comparing to your 445) are these two:
the Cree XM-L of varying bins, T6/U2... which makes about 1000lumens @ 3A
the Luminus SST-90, which pumps out between 1500-2500 lumens @ 9A

The Cree is easy to build into multi-emitter configurations, as well...

I have a fenix TK70 and it's heavy/long enough to cause damage.
The strobe is pretty epic on it too and is effective from really far away cus of it's throw. :)
I've had mine for about 5 months or so and it's been dropped/knocked about and left outside in -5c for about an hour (all by accident xD) and it's still running strong.
