Just get one of those backpack weed killer sprayer, fill with napalm, ( gas+Styrofoam), attach butane mini torch to the nozzle, and it's the "fire shovel" TM. ;)

We're veering off topic here, but I would like to say, it would be neat if when you got a sidewalk, you had nichrome wire embedded in it, so if it snowed, you just hook your sidewalk up to a car battery and it warms up. Well, maybe you'd need somehting more than a car battery.

I've thought about that alot for roofs sidewalk etc.

How much would that cost vs, all the snow removal for the highways.

Don't put lithium in these. It will over-drive the led a LOT. I have one of these, and I use it quite often. It's picky about operating voltage though. Alkaline voltage drops too fast, and drops even further under this heavy load. NiMH is okay if you get a good one, but NiZn cells are the best for these boost drivers because they are closest to the optimal operating voltage.

I've got nice Duracell 2400 mAh batteries. Been using the flashlight a lot and it hasn't dimmed yet.

I only use lithium because mine is a laser host
I wasn't suggesting to use one for the light.
