I just received the Maratac Extreme AA from Country Comm.
The lights sells for $41.95 but with tax and shipping I paid $53.78.
The specifications, battery installation and operation were located on a small card sent with the light.
The Maratac Extreme AA came shipped in a plastic container.
Comes with 2 o-rings.
Country Comms website says R2 so it looks to be a XR-E R2.
Uses an OP reflector.
This is the back of the Cree module which uses a spring.
The Cree module comes out very easy. Screws right out!
Thick walled battery tube. This is from the positive side of the battery tube. The light feels hefty.
Inside view of the rear tail cap.
The rear clickie is a reverse clickie 2 levels high then low. Does not remember it's last setting and always turns on in high. Very stiff action.
When turning on the light it takes like a millisecond turn to turn on, goes from a low to high very fast.
Does not tail stand.

I took lux measurements with my Meterman LM631. I used freshly charged Energizer 2500mAh nimh bateries. I took the measurements within 1 minute at 1 meter.
Maratac Extreme AA, R2 high - 1670 lux @ 1 meter
Maratac Extreme AA, R2, low - 100 lux @ 1 meter
Fenix LD10 R4, high - 1750 lux @ 1 meter
The Maratac Extreme AA uses a OP reflector. The Fenix LD10 R4 uses a SMO reflector.

The Maratac Extreme AA is a very hefty light. It may not be a good choice if you're looking for a light for EDC carrying.
The threads and o-rings came lubed. The threads feel very tight when unscrewing or screwing back the various parts.
The finish is very good. All parts match. The specs say it's made of Type III Hard Anodize.
The beam tint is very white and smooth. No rings while white wall hunting!
The low is very low. It's a good low level to read at something at night if you have to.
Country Comm rates the High 120 lumens/ Low 1.5 lumens.
Runtime High ( 2 hour ) / Low ( 225 hours ), but they do not say what kind of battery is giving the run time. Usually the 1AA lights have a run time close to 1 hour at high, so I'm not sure if that's correct. I don't have the time to do a run time test or set up to do it so I can't check it.
I don't mind if the Maratac Extreme AA doesn not remember it's last setting when shut off and always turns on in high. I like my lights to turn on in high.
Too bad I had to pay the sales tax because shipping from Country Comm is high. I guess the only way to off set this is to buy more items.
