Tan one is a guidesman

bullshit.

Extremeshade told you how to do it.

the guides man shouldn't give you too much trouble:

Unscrew the metal piece holding the led assembly

Pop out led assembly (assuming you have the appropriate heat sink)

Pry off the black plastic piece located inside the battery tube where the led's contact spring use to be if more room is needed

The only thing that might get a little damaged is this plasctic piece, but not damaged beyond use.

Maybe give us an idea of what you plan to do with them for further help :/

So you didnt look for replies to your first thread before starting a second about the same thing?:thinking::thinking: thats pretty stupid...

The guidesman is the easiest host to pull apart too....

Then it looks like the head is screwed on super tight. Have your dad take it apart for you.

Sometimes it happens that lights get tightened a bit over the limit in factory or wherever, or cross-thread happens, and it becomes nearly impossible to take stuff apart.

How many times did I improvise with vices, lathe jaws, rubber wrappings, lever, brute strenght, freezing and heating the host...

Here and there, just one of those days happens where exactly nothing happens as it should.

I hope you didn't break anything or scratch the finish!

Also, be on the lookout, if some no-name cheapo lights simply refuse to come off, perhaps they really glued the threads together and are actually impossible to disassemble without completely obliterating it.

What are you trying to do, exactly?

Perhaps I can help you out with that? Regarding custom machined parts and general assembly, I can surely give you a hand.

When that happens, I use acetone (fingernail polish remover) in a hypodermic needle ( like from a printer ink refill kit)......inject the acetone a small amount at a time, then twist.

Just be careful not to get acetone on any plastic and especially yourself (Use extreme caution). This has worked for some flashlights....some actually got obliterated :D

Nah, I usually take the glue on the threads as a sign that I need to find a new host.

Because seriously, if the construction is that cheap or unreliable, what's the point?

There are so many other hosts on DX to try.

lol imagine how ironic it would be if nail polish remover (acetone) was dangerous to contact skin
