Don't know, I must admit I am nearly as blocked on this subject as the folk who won't consider the possibility of alien visitation... but I must admit, there might be something behind it, not from a religious outlook, but from what I believe is the laws of physics our reality is ruled by. It wasn't all that long ago human beings had no clue as to the existence of radio waves, much less other solar systems, sub atomic particles and on, and on, so such is more likely possible than not, I think. Besides, in a simulated reality, anything is possible :p

Yes it is more likely than not. The more we find out within physics, the more problems will be answered.

Things like alien contact fasciante me, though i have my problems with the faster-than-light travel virtually required for that to happen at all.

Perhaps there is something we don't understand yet that could make it a reality, like creating artifical wormholes between points in space as we see fit. These would require the existence of an additional dimension, but that is something very difficult to (dis)prove.

It could also involve something like time travel which would be even weirder, but i don't want to exclude things just because they seem weird or counterintuitive - in all honestly i find our current knowledge of quantum mechanics confusing sometimes already.

Personally i do not believe aliens have visited earth at the moment, but i don't exclude that they might at some point in, well, time. Just that statement would make the time travel hypothesis problematic, since they could pop up yesterday and i would not be aware of that in the current timeline ;)

I propose we be scientific about it all and just collect data, both personal observations and from camera's, sensors and such.

To some degree we should be glad for the lack of alien contact i presume. There is a realsitic chance that aliens would see us humans as a good source of burger meat than as conversation partners, like we do cows ;)

I remain sceptical of UFO sightings being alien craft, purely because I know people like me exist throughout the world, and I sometimes catch myself designing fake UFOs out of helium, 3D printing, and quad copter parts. It wouldn't be that hard with access to all this modern electronics to build a fake UFO that can fly around and behave unlike any known aircraft.

On the subject of higher dimensions and wormholes, I think it would be interesting if other races out there did know of us, and about us by utilising tiny wormholes as interstellar windows. If I remember, the mathematics for wormholes checks out, just we don't know of any method to create and stabilise them in our 4 dimensions. But there is one theory that during the big bang, some incredibly tiny stable wormholes would have formed, and because of cosmic inflation would still be very small, but big enough to be detectable. So imagine a race that was able to detect and utilise these tiny holes in space-time to get peeks from all around the universe.

I like a good prank myself, sounds like fun to build a fake UFO and blow peoples minds, but I won't do it because I consider the matter too serious. Being skeptical is a good thing, but if you spend some time seeking the truth of the matter, I think you will be unable to deny it is at least highly likely such things do happen, that we do have visitation.

Things like alien contact fasciante me, though i have my problems with the faster-than-light travel virtually required for that to happen at all. Well, like what I said earlier, the 5th dimension would get around this without actually breaking the speed barrier. Rather than moving, they would be somewhat teleporting. This is where quantum physics comes into its weirdness. :p

Perhaps there is something we don't understand yet that could make it a reality, like creating artifical wormholes between points in space as we see fit. These would require the existence of an additional dimension, but that is something very difficult to (dis)prove. I think it will become a necessity to challenge this hypothesis in the future, as much of our technology and science will depend on it.

It could also involve something like time travel which would be even weirder, but i don't want to exclude things just because they seem weird or counterintuitive - in all honestly i find our current knowledge of quantum mechanics confusing sometimes already. Technically this is what we would be doing by 'teleporting' to one point to another, as the 5th is another temporal dimension. Although without the so called 'travel'

Personally i do not believe aliens have visited earth at the moment, but i don't exclude that they might at some point in, well, time. Just that statement would make the time travel hypothesis problematic, since they could pop up yesterday and i would not be aware of that in the current timeline ;) This no one can say for definite, but I do get an eerie feeling that we they may of done. I also like the thought of hiding in plain sight. Humans are amazingly blind when distracted. ;)

I propose we be scientific about it all and just collect data, both personal observations and from camera's, sensors and such.

It wouldn't be that hard with access to all this modern electronics to build a fake UFO that can fly around and behave unlike any known aircraft. Yes, this sort of thing makes it hard for genuine cases to be heard. It is often utilised to discredit cases as well. But in most occasions the fakes can be found out. But the more fakes that are out there, the more of a general consensus gathers over all of them being explainable and fake.

On the subject of higher dimensions and wormholes, I think it would be interesting if other races out there did know of us, and about us by utilising tiny wormholes as interstellar windows. So imagine a race that was able to detect and utilise these tiny holes in space-time to get peeks from all around the universe. I have heard of this theory before, it is interesting to think that this could be possible. It is also possible that there are many more ways of navigating around something as huge as space.

Being critical is a positive thing. I mean I am very critical. I have explained away many instances where I have seen unusual phenomena in the sky, but there has definitely been a couple that I can't explain to this day. And I like to understand most of what I experience. :p

Fake UFO's might pose a probem indeed, especially if one optmizes a drone to be silent even sacrificing some performance for that. It would literally be a light that darts around the sky, in patterns no other aircraft can, and could perhaps not even be heard from the ground, especially when flying downwind from the observer.

This could make drones be the more logical explanation of something observed.

For actively controlled drones it might be possible to detect the radio control signal and identify it as such, but you can also have a drone fly a pre-programmed pattern without any realtime control, so lack of such signals is no proof against it either.

As for aliens already visiting earth: why would they be secretive about that? When you think of it, it would be odd that they would visit earth but not introduce themselves, or if less bening just start to do whatever they wanted to to earth.

We may have this star-trek like idea of not disturbing populations that have not yet developed interstellar travel, but that remains a work of fiction. In a practical sense we don't even uphold rules like that by hiding from uncontacted tribes and things like that. Even if we don't actively make contact, they just might notice all those airplane contrails in the sky ;)

From what I gather, aliens have come and introduced themselves many, many times. They have been both threatening as well as benign, there is a full range of behavior but also those who only show themselves without more interaction.

Alien Dian Fossey's? "Observe without interference" :D

Some UFO's have been known to make sound. It varies from that of slight crackling (like static electricity) to that of low frequency hums. Some instances have been known to cause booming or thunder like noises due to shock waves they have created. None state that of the whirring noises made by our drones however. But drones could be the answer as they are no longer bound by biological g-force limits, just mechanical thus allowing incredible quick tight angle turns. Whether they are earthly or not, many people have seen things during their life. For that something must be going on, whether it is visitation, unknown natural phenomena, or some kind of interdimensional distortion.

Alaskan, you might be right, and partly I want you to right (at least for the benign ones). But I and many others need to have proof that this is the case. As that type of proof would never be shown to us in this day and age, no-one can know for definite. Like the X-Files poster, I want to believe and do have a gut feeling that it has already happened, but I can not vouch its certainty.

Like I said, I have had a couple of situations where I believe that it must of been something foreign to this planet, but I know that humans are also quick to jump on the idea. Religion was another example, anything unexplained good or bad was either God's doing or Demons/angels did that.
For this reason, only after a lot of thought did I come to the conclusion that I couldn't explain it, and I had to then rely on my own intuition. I believe that it could of been extraterrestrial and to be honest it doesn't matter if it wasn't as it is unexplainable, so I will never find out the answer to it anyway.

I don't know if they were "alien" or not, but from what little I have observed, my doubts of such being a reality are gone. I even saw one yellow-orange orb hovering near me move away and then shoot down a yellow beam of light and saw something travel to the ground within the beam, it shot something down from perhaps 1000 feet high to the ground in what I believe was less than 1/3 of second, whoosh, faster than terminal velocity, so it wasn't something falling. Would I believe this if I didn't see it myself? No... Also, I had a coworker on the other side of the small town I was in see it too. What ever it sent down, it was probably close to a mile away and on the other side of a fence along the highway in Alamogordo, NM. I couldn't go over to see what it was, although I wanted to.

That is interesting Alaskan, No way of explaining away that one. There isn't any natural phenomena or man-made aircraft responsible for that.

Apologies for the length of my experience, but I thought it would useful to share. I was going to PM it to you Alaskan. But I might as well just share it. Who knows someone else might resonate with the experience.

I remember a few years back getting up to go to the bathroom situated downstairs. Whilst I was on the landing, I saw a bright light illuminating the window sill. I then took a look out of the landing window only to be met with a bright white orb hovering around 200ft above a tree at the bottom of next doors garden. It is brighter than a full moon. It also had a eerie feel about the object. It was about 3am in the morning, I was tired but this immediately woke me up and was alert enough to study the object and the sky around it. This is where it got weird. I noticed the object wasn't made up of one huge light, but of one primary and two secondary lights top and bottom of the orb. The secondary lights slowly pulsed in intensity. For some reason I took my attention away from orb and noticed other lights in the sky. At first I thought that they were just stars, but in the blink of an eye I noticed one shoot across the sky and stop. The object left a red light trail behind it which disappeared quickly. Then I noticed another one join it, again leaving a trail. This got me really focusing on the objects and then I noticed that one was actually orbiting around the bright orb.

I went to my bedroom again, and laid down, but I could still see the white glow coming through the landing window and illuminating my bedroom doorway. The whole time laying there was the weirdest sensation, knowing something is out there. It basically froze me in bed for sometime. I was highly surprised that when I was able to get up to have another look, the orb was still there. Hadn't moved a bit, despite over an hour had passed. This for sure rules out astronomical objects. The objects remained there until sunrise, where they simply faded and disappeared like nothing had happened.

I remember that experience vividly still now, and have never been able to explain it away. I still look at that tree and wonder what that was. I sure didn't feel alone that night.

I saw a dome of white light about 18 inches tall sitting on the desk in my room when I was a kid, scared me to death, my sister saw it too, so we hid from it until my grandmother came in, stepped on the cat and all hell broke loose, it was gone then. That was something inside the room, still can't believe my eyes on that one. Wish I could see what you did close up, I oh so much wanted to get on the other side of the fence near the highway and go see if I could find something where that beam went down, but it was dark and there was more than one fence between me and where it went down. If I had something like that close to my house, I might just go out and see it close up, I don't know if I would get too close though. Thank you for sharing the inexplicable.

That is quite a freaky experience you had as a kid. I wouldn't of wanted to see that one.

It probably was best that you didn't get too close to that yellow-orange orb. Curiosity can do harm.

For mine, after going to the bathroom, I went into the kitchen and was thinking about going into the garden to have a closer look. But something stopped me, so I went back upstairs and got into bed. Thinking about it today, this is not the type of behaviour I would expect myself to be doing in that situation. It was like something was controlling me hence why I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed for while. There must of been a reason why I couldn't get myself closer.

Have you considered the possibility you were not in bed? Have you considered the possibility that you were abducted and only think you remember what you "remember"? I'm being totally serious, this is a possibility. You might want to look over your body for abnormalities, lumps, dots, possibly be x-rayed. You might even consider hypnosis to recall repressed memories.
