The rear tail cap is a twist on / off.

There are 2 levels low and high. Twist on / off within 1 second the X10 goes to the next level. Twist on / off for more than 2 seconds the X10 memorizes that level you are on.

The rear button is for momentary on. To use the tail cap needs to be half turned out. Press on release for off. Press again with in 1 second the X10 goes to the next level. Press on then release wait for 3 seconds the X10 will turn in that same level you were on.

I took Lux readings with a fully charged Rechargeable Lithium-Ion 26650 Battery with my Meterman LM631. Hot off the charger at high. I read 18,000 Lux @ 1 meter. I took another reading at 1 minute.

----------------------------------------------------------

The 4 Sevens Maelstrom X10 is very well made. The Type III Hard Anodize is excellent. All parts match. The threads are square. Twisting action is tight and smooth.

A nice touch is the holster. The holster is well built and tough. You can go put the X10 in either direction, tail up or tail down. I like the tail up position. I have had quite a few lights turn on by accident tail down in different holsters.

The X10 cannot tail stand.

Initial charge of the Rechargeable Lithium-Ion 26650 Battery took almost 2 hours.

The beam tint of the XM-L is white hot spot but around that is has the slight green tint. The green tint is more noticeable at low. The green tint doesn't bother me. Almost all of my cool XM-L lights I have show the same characteristics with the white hot spot and the green tint around it.

I was surprised at how much throw the X10 puts out for it's size. It throws a beam just as far as some of my other XM-L throwers. The other XM-L throwers are much longer compared to the 4 Sevens Maelstrom X10.

I purchased my 4 Sevens Maelstrom X10, 4Sevens Single Bay Smart Battery Charger and Rechargeable Lithium-Ion 26650 Battery from Going Gear.

Great review, as usual!

Do you buy all the flashlights you reviewed? If so, how do you store them?

Yes I buy all lights reviewed.

I keep my lights in a roll away tool box in my spare bedroom.
