I'm sure you could power it with enough batteries...! Just get... I dunno, 100 LiFePO4 18650s and stick half of 'em in parallel? XD

lamps like these draw over 50 amps so you still won't get much runtime... Plus, 100 batteries would be impossible to maintain properly and they would weigh alot... lol

With batteries you would be better off with two car batteries than a bunch of Li cells. 24volts might not be enough but my bet is it will work just fine, and you should have a good long run time on top of the mountain

The lab I work in has a 1kW Xe lamp, I use it routinely nowadays. It's inside a safety enclosure, so no beam shots or anything like that. We use it as a light source for photoelectrochemical etching.
It's bright. And pretty darn small, all things considered.

heat generated by the arc lamp with shatter regular glass once it cools down. All glass used on these systems must be Borosilicate (PYREX) as far as I know.
If im not mistaken its actually quartz
