100 Watt HID Mod! Estimated 8000 Lumens!

what about using one of these https://www.fasttech.com/products/1211/10003949/1285702 you could probably fit it right inside of the light. i know its only 35W but still would be very bright and you would get a longer run time.

It would work for sure...

I found that with HID, 4300K is the way to go. (IMO)

Yeah you can also get good deals at ddmtuning.com they carry all the different bulbs as well 55W slim ballasts. That's where I get my cars hid's. Im almost sure they still sell motorcycle kits which would be perfect for this mod, and yeah lifetime warranty!

As I think I've mentioned to you in a PM ( maybe not ) I manage a 20k hunting and recreation ranch in SW Texas. We have a terrible feral hog problem and must constantly eliminate them any way we can. One of these monsters would be very useful. Probably if I had one the owners would immediately want a couple more as soon as they laid eyes on it working.

So much output, but relatively little heat! I put my thumb right on the glass, and it still took maybe 2 minutes before the glass got too warm to keep my thumb on it.

Sure it will get pretty warm, but not what I would call 'Hot' for this much light. I built a 100 Watt Halogen light, and it was so hot that it would light a ball of newspaper in about 10 seconds.

But no where near the luminosity of this 100 Watt HID build.

And of course if you used a magnifying glass, I'm sure you could light a match...

Honestly it's a pain because of all the parts for the mod, including the custom Li-Ion pack. I suppose I could though...

But I do have a couple of nice (smaller) HID lights for sale. (40W HID, but hand size)
