This laser started it's life as a 532nm 100 mW, unstable, WL "200 mW" E3.
I stripped the anodized finished and decided to go with a brushed look,
using 400 grit sandpaper. I used a 1.25A linear driver powering an M 140
diode from DTR. I also wired an LED up to the driver board to make use of
the LED hole in the host. I think the laser looks quite a bit better than before
and I really like the way the blue works with the metallic aluminum.
I am a little disappointed with the power output however, it peaks at ~1100
mW with a standard glass lens, it may be my batteries, as they are cheap
and pretty old, or maybe just an inefficient diode. Either way, this is my
new favorite 'pocket laser' and an improvement on the original. Pics
below, thanks for looking! :beer:

yes i love WL hosts too bad a lot of people have bad expirences w/ them...

There should be a site that sells the hosts people sell there broken WL to the site and the site keeps a database for people to buy the broken ones. it seems a lot of people besides me also love their hosts.

you should definitely buy the saber for only $99, great deal! *sarcasm*
but its kinda cool actually with how they use a magnetic thing or something to make it look like a light saber i would maybe buy one if it was cheaper (a lot cheaper) and if i had a WL laser :)

If I had the machining equipment/ability, I would love to clone the E3, but maybe scale it up a bit to accept some larger batteries. As of now, the 10440 size battery is kind of a
handicap with more current consuming builds, terrible battery life. If someone could
do it, I'd buy about 6 of them, 18650's would be awesome...;)
