So i bought a 1,000mW blue 445nm that is currently shipping and im wondering what OD density of laser safety glasses might i need

At the Moment i have a OD 4+ pair that protects 200nm - 540nm Wavelengths. will that be good enough to look at the dot on the surface without getting eye damage or eye strain?

Thank you for your feed back.

Yes OD 4+ will be plenty for 1000mw

The OD rating (optical density) signifies how many decimal points it reduces the lasers power by. For OD 4+ it will reduce the power of a laser by four decimal points. Therefore OD 4+ will reduce 1000mw down to 0.1mw. So yes OD 4+ is plenty.

Please search this before you make a new thread. I'm sure this had been discussed many times.
