I have a very urgent quiestion for you about the driver !
( BlitzBuck V3 Round Adjustable 3A driver Set to 1.82 AMPs. )

When working with it, suddenly I saw that the " Jumper for HIGH " is welded together.
Is that OK ? ISN'T ok ? What will be the implications if I'll weld it or "UN-WELD" it?
Maybe the man I bought it from did it, or maybe I did it by mistake and that's not a good thing. ( The laser doesn't work )

I need a very fast question because I gave it to an Electronic welder ( a man that works with electronics, sorry for english ) and he said that maybe that's the problem, so maybe he's going to UN-WELD the "Jumper".

Please answer fast. THANKS !

The blitz buck can go to 1.8A in both high and low mode. You should be fine.

So should I keep it welded ? Or un-weld it.
Maybe because of that the laser doesn't work.

It shouldn't matter if you have already set the current to 1.8A. If you undo it then you'll have to set the current again.

You said it shouldn't matter, so why I'll have to set the current again if I'll undo it ?

In high mode the power range is 1.67A - 3.1A, in low it's 1.2A-1.8A.

In either mode you can achieve 1.8A current. You have to set the current before you hook it up to the laser diode each time you change it from high mode to low mode.

It's set to 1.82 Amps, and I saw that it's welded.
I want it in high power, but I afraid that tha'ts the problem that the laser doesn't work.
Do you think I have to un-weld it ? Or it will be VERY low. ( 1.2W instead of 1.8W )

If you undo it and set it to 1.8A again the power output will still be the same. Are you sure the problem is with the driver? What is your power source?

It can be soldered. That's how it's supposed to be, actually. Who sold it to you? Was it someone other than Clif from CajunLasers?

No, it was Clif.
Anyway now it works, but another problem;
When I play the laser, at the first 0.5 second it's strong, and than become lower.
I asked somebody that said the problem is with the batteries \ charger.
I bought the batteries from Odic Force the UltraFire batteries ( 2 pack. )
Each battery : 3.6V, 1000mAh.

The charger I got from a laser the I bought from DealExtreme, long time ago.
Like this: SD-301 Focusable 100mW 532nm Green Laser Pen Pointer with Battery Set (1*18650) - Free Shipping ( look at the pictures in the left side of the page )
Another man told me that the problem is in the driver, and that I need a kinda of heatsink for the driver also.
Help, please.

So you tested the driver on a test load, yes? And it was capable of running for more than half a second? If so, your problem is not the driver.

it works how much I want, but in the first second it's REALLY strong, but after it's it become a little bit lower. It's still strong, but not like in the first second.

But on the test load, what did you see? Was it holding steady output current?

Well, Im not sure. I think only Clid did it a test load before he sent it to me, because he did set it for me to 1.82 AMPs.
ANYWAY, after playing a little bit with the laser, I saw that when I play it, the power of the laser is starting to wade and wade, until it's very hard to see the dot. ( From really strong to really low, in 15 seconds. )
What can be that problem ? How can I fix it ?
I asked a freind and he said that I have to cool the driver.
I'll need your help here , thanks.

If it's set at 1.82A, heating shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, these tend to just shut off when overheated if I remember correctly, not fade. What batteries are you using? Can you try powering the diode with a different driver and see if the diode is the problem?

This is my first laser the I buikt, and with a lot help from another people.
I can't use another driver because this is my only driver that I ordered.
Maybe can I sell it in something like 200$ to someone here, maybe to you , and you'll fix it by yourself ?
For man like you that won't be a problem.
Also, Im using the batteries:
From Odic Force the UltraFire batteries ( 2 pack. )
Each battery : 3.6V, 1000mAh.
How can I cool the driver? My friend said that he thinks this is the problem.
After charge the batteries, it works great. But after 30 seconds - 1.5 mins its starting to wade much.
Anytime I use it, it has different time action. Sometimes it's really strong for 1 minute and than wade, and sometimes it strong for 1-2 seconds and than wade.
Maybe the problem is in the batteries and not in the driver ? Because the driver set to 1.82AMPs, and after I charge the batteries it works great.
Hope u understood me. Sorry for talking too much :\
Thanks. !
