Default Simpleton question for my 445

I'm running my 445 off 2AA nimh at right about 575mA @ 2.65v.

Question: is there an inverse square relationship between v/a through the driver and what would the output of the laser be at this level? My guess after checking the amperage would be about 280mW but that seems a bit high and it take a fair amount of time for the module to get hot (no extra heatsinking). On an inverse square rule it seems output would be roughly 83mW. Anybody?

The "pertinents": 1W 445 module w/flex drive (5v/2A) - care of DTR.

Signed,

Curious in my basement

Guess I'm not that simple.
