Been a while since posting here. Felt my latest laser was worthy of sharing with
such a large group of enthusiasts.

This laser was a custom order for a gent who is already using a WL Arctic to kill
off some nasty little critters at his ranch. He approached me for what finally
developed into a beast of a laser. Metered at 7.3W, it consists of 3, 9mm 445
diodes with a zoom expander to lay down all that power effectively.

The buyer was not so concerned with range as he was power, so the collimating
optics are not the lower power 3 element lenses.

Took a long time to get this one finished, but the changes that were made throughout
build process were well worth it. Must have machined the internal head 15 times.
At the end of the day, in a build like this, precision is EVERYTHING.

Nuff talk, heres a vid will add pics when time permits.

OH MY GOD! AMAZING BUILD! What is the duty cycle with the fan on that? Great work man, that is VERY unique! I bet it cost a fortune :p

Kudo's man !! That is a beast of a laser. What is the size of the beam and are they knife edged ?

It would have to be to combine 3 lasers of the same wavelength. I'm just curious to how he steered 2 beams to match the third in such a tight space.

It's a 'knife edge' setup with the beams standing side by side like |||. Output beam is approx
3x3mm then pass into a 4x expander which puts out a square'ish beam that focuses down
to desired size. It actually appears more round than it does square, and makes the beam look
so much better than that of a flat beam which personally im tired of seeing.

The idea of this build was for short range heating, the next will be more for range, and will be
setting it up for distance and low divergence.

Regarding the fan, its one of those hyper turbo jobs from the ka$i0 projectors. Lots of power
and to be honest, complementary:san:

Thanks
My approach is to think of a layout, sit at the lathe and just start cutting. The
more off the top of my head the idea, the better things seem to work out.

Beam quality is the most important aspect, I cringe when I see a crooked beam.
(not a poke at wickedlasers... really..)

Thats absolutely amazing! kudos to you man :D

whats the battery life like

Appreciate it... Battery life is not too bad. Its a 12v system using buck drivers
and gets about 1/2hr to 45 min.

Back from a short forum hiatus and the result is the most powerful visible handheld laser in the world:D. I assume this " blue terminator" could be used for killing not only nasty little critters, it would find its place in modern portable laser warfare;).

:lasergun:

Great video .

What a competition for CDBEAM777's Tridentis...
