Default Safety hazards for 445nm

Wicked put up this article. I'm very glad they did. I think anyone that is going to operate one of these 445s at higher powers, be it DIY, or from WL, should read this article, and be aware of the extreme safety hazards that come with these. This article should make these lasers scare you a litttle. As they should. It's a ~1W laser in a handheld host that shoots a blinding beam of photons. Blue Light Hazard

Cancer even? I thought you had to go to 350-300nm to cause cancer.

I don't think think the photon in this wavelength will cause cancer, but seriously it will bilind us instantly. There is no doubt that 1W laser can do that. Be safe.

It doesn't specifically state that it is cancer causing. I don't think they've done enough research with these smaller wavelengths to know for sure if it does, or not. I'm not taking any chances. I edited it anyway.

Going blind would really ruin this hobby for me. I am going to be just as safe with this laser as I am with all of my Class VI lasers so that I can continue to enjoy them.

From what I've read it bleaches the optical cones in your eyes, and because of the wavelength they dont recover properly because your eye is constantly trying to focus on the wavelength. This can damage the cones, thus blinding you.
