Re: ROUND 4 - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy.

Since we're only talking a CR2 rechargeable, I would guess that 400mA's max will be about what I shoot for in my personal build. Which will still be over 400mW's with a 405-G-1 from what I have read so far...

put me down for one of those host .

For the 18650? No problem! :)

But as you can imagine, some people end up changing their minds, so the only real fair way is to sell the kits on a 'first pay, first serve' basis...

So just PM me and let me know what options you want with the kit! :)

My Build @ 550mA started flickering when using a single CR2, I would recommend a battery that can supply more current.

Currently 2 CR2's on a groove2 driver is working just fine, but this diode eats through them like nothing (low run time).

My first build on a 14500 works very well and gives decent run time with a boost driver.

Keep that in mind when choosing a host.

If you keep the mA setting on the driver low enough you can get away with a cr2 kit.

Yep... maybe even 350mA's...

But probably 400mA's would be fine.

Also, you would want a CR2 rechargeable. The higher the voltage of the battery, the less it will have to use extra current to boost voltage.

I would recommend this battery:

Yes , I should have said that I was using RCR2 rechargeable batteries Li-ion.

I wonder what the max mA might be for an alkaline powered pen build might be.

Re: ROUND 4 - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy.

I don't know about alkaline, but using 2 X AA e2 lithium supply with my Star Trek Phaser build, it easily gives good current to a 12X at 320mA's. And I have set the 'Hot' option Phaser builds at 400mA's with no complaints.

So that's a diode with a little more voltage demand as well. (meaning more current demand with a Micro Boost)

I would say 2 X AA lithium will give much more current than a single CR2 anyway. They are over 2000mAh capacity...
