Question(informal-poll): What current do set your M140 445nm to?

I just got my 2D maglite setup from jayrod & DTR... asked it to be shipped set at 1.6amps... which it was EXACTLY... I've since... given in to my addiction... and set it to 1.78amps...

Works fine for me, I don't have an LPM unfortunately, and haven't kept it on more than 1 minute before downtime.


Wondering what everyone else has their M-140 set to?

1 min at 1.78 amps is really good for a diode that is supposed to be run at 700ma, cool

"Supposed to be run at 700mA" is no longer true of these diodes (I believe). Assuming they are Nichia's current multi-mode blues, then they're rated at 1600mA.

Arg.... If I make it a poll I have to put it in the 'poll' section? (where nobody reads), this is specific to 445nm...?

Most of us don't read threads by section but by most recent posts.;)

I still say 1.8A as a max enthusiast setting or 1.6A and under for best life.:beer:
