Question for Arctic Spyder owners

My Spyder seems to be working flawlessly, however I'm wondering about the battery monitor. Once it's running, the battery monitor will light all 3 lights in low modes, but in high modes, only 1 led is lit..and it flickers. I'm pretty sure my battery is charged, but being the included charger is not a smart charger, I didn't want to overcharge it. I put it on a volt meter and it read 3 sometimes hitting 4v(it does not read to the tenths), but if its hitting 4v I assume it's fully if not over charged already, but still 1 green light at full power. The beam seems bright enough.

So is this normal?

Thanks, Michael

Mine shows 3 lit leds, on constant no flickering when on high but my battery is a AW 2900 mAh with a full charge. You're probably just fine.:yh:

Mine does this too. It is Normal.

The reason it shows you 3 on Low and 1 on high is because on low its nit sucking alot of currant out of your battery

s well for the High mode it is draining that battery so this is why you are only getting 1 LED on. When it starts to flicker this means your battery is low. <3.5V.

Run this test. As soon as you take your battery off the charger stick it into your laser and see what happeneds on High if it lights up 3 LEDs.

If it doesn't Light up all three after then its your battery.

Hope this Helps.

Umm, you may want to do a search about the Arctic tail cap here. It has known problems in the shunt plug, tail cap area, causing a currant drop. Also you might want to check and clean the threads ( Both male and female ) where the tail cap screws on. Mine had lots of manufacturing oil/grit. After doing this alone, I noticed all three leds stayed on much longer between charges. Although mine is a G1.

I think it's the battery dead, this morning(with no added charging) the battery kept dying. The laser would run for a few seconds and look fine, then just die off with all 3 lights blinking. Two possibilities, either the battery is dead and the gauge was right all along, or the previous owner overcharged it and killed it, so either way I cant hurt it by charging it the full 3 hours. I have already ordered 2 of the recommended 18650 batteries from LarryDFW and a smart charger.

PS..I saw on youtube all the G1's all have 3 lit lights on high power, but it was hard for me to see what a G2 batt. meter looked like as nobody took a pic. Anyway, the battery is now on charge for the next 3 hrs....I hate charging lithium batteries like that, but my new charger(and batteries) will be here soon.
Thanks for the help

EDIT: After a full charge, the battery and meter are fine. All 3 lights on at full power. Did I say I hate the Arctic charger? It would be so easy to undercharge or overcharge a battery....and I'm not crazy about the supplied battery either.

My Arctic is a G2. It has the 3 LED meter. Also I took another 18650 cell out of a flashlight I have and inserted it into the Arctic and it showed only 2 LEDs lit while on high constant power. This cell has some use on it since last charge and the Arctic shows it on its meter while on high.

LORDJET my Arctic too was pretty messy with grit and lube on the threads of the tail cap when it arrived. I cleaned it to smitherines and re-lubed the threads.
