Not suprisingly, O-like have now released their own 1W 445nm handheld laser. It looks like the one Rayfoss is selling, but it's cheaper:)

From the description:
Wavelength:445nm
output power :700mW
size :Φ24mm×190mm
powered by 2pcs 3.7V 16340 batteries
Good finish

They both probably sourced it from the same laser manufacturer. I doubt either company actually makes these...

i think it is cheaper because of the lower output power of 700mw as compared to 1000mw rayfoss is selling. i think it is most likely not including a Retail Box

Yep .. it calls for 18600 and boost driver. And better heat-sinking.

what is this a response to?

also the rayfos laser isnt waterproof, it says it can be added but it makes spare mark around the doot because of the lens used

does the o-like have the same problem

how about some pics of these in use

Why it says 1W 445nm Blue Laser Torch in the title when it's (only) 700mW :undecided:
Nice looking host tho.. Someone knows the beam specs?

Uh .. good question ! It does not make any sense ! It was reaction to the fact that these lasers can be run with 18650, but at much lower power, because the driver can't raise the voltage. So this laser would use more universal driver, like flexdrive. But that was told in another thread, and it seems I got confused or something. Or somebody removed post I was reacting to ? Can't remember.

As for heatsinking, there is always need for more ! This diode deserves to be pushed more then 700mW. Rayfoss states it is 1W +-10%. Strange that O-like run then so low.

I quite like the clean design of the host. The focusing method sucks tho & prefer 18650s.
Lack of a (real) focus ring kills it for me. Well that & the fact that DIY gives more options all around.

i'd quite like one set at infinity. dont have to worry about a loose focus that way. only downfall would be burning but thats only really for impressing people lol (unless you have very low standards of entertainment)

I think that o-like says to use the 16340 batteries - could the 18650 be used in place of this like the rayfos one says it uses?
