Re: 445nm 1.5w+ Diodes for sale!

I know it is frowned upon by *some* to speak ill of a sales thread that is not your own.

However, since you are making a claim that I believe to be untrue (and because you have 4 posts to your name), I want to chime in.

At $44.25 with free shipping, it is arguable whether you have the best price - it probably depends a bit on the shipping costs of others, and the QTY. DTR sells them for $43 here, and $40 for each additional:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/dtrs-laser-shop-61635.html
He's probably the most experienced at extracting them.

Three from DTR, shipped, would come to $129. Three from you, shipped, would come to $132.75.

This is just my own perspective, and everyone is free to make up their own mind, but I would certainly grab my high powered diodes from the master of high powered diodes.

So again, my apologies for chiming in uninvited on your thread. But you've made some big claims, and I think that you really need to come at this with a MUCH better value proposition if you're going to attract business, without any track record to your name.

Heck, I wouldn't buy anything from any new user with only 4 posts. It's nothing personal, that's just an unwise idea to boot.

Sure seems like everyone and their mother wants to sell these diodes. Just watch ebay for a couple weeks and watch the price of them steadily drop.

Re: 445nm 1.5w+ Diodes for sale!

That's all alright, I understand the "INs & OUTs"...

If DTR sells them for $43 each and then $40 each additional, then the total from him for 3 LDs would cost $123 right? ( (40x2) + 43 )...

I'll sell them at $42.50 each, and $39.75 each additional diode. (+free shipping).
Which means the first diode will cost $42.50, then the others will cost only $39.75,
so 3 diodes (in the same purchase) for $122.00 + free shipping. ;)
...that's my lowest offer (as of now)

...Even though I'm new to LPF, I'm not new to electronics/physics...

You still only have 5 posts and 0 rep. The folks around here get skittish when a Noob that no one knows just materializes and wants to sell stuff.

We get way too many scammers here not to be cautious.

Sorry, Just my .02

With respect, there are a few types of credibility. One is the "honesty" variety. You may be fine on that front given your ebay feedback. Though it still might turn some members off that you're trying to sell here with under 10 posts to your name.

Regardless, I think the more critical type of credibility at play here, is of the experience variety. You don't have demonstrable experience with lasers, or diode extraction. Building a PC is quite a bit different than building a laser.

The question came up as to whether you could prove the power of your diodes. I'm not sure whether Fenzir intended that as a real question, or whether he asked that queston to *test* you. Either way, the fact that you seriously addressed it, with a plan to prove the power of your diodes, makes me question your approach even more:

- Someone with experience using these diodes should know that they don't "have" a power. They're essentially all the same. Your diodes aren't "1.5W" and more or less than the diodes in an Arctic are "1.5W", our the diodes some other forum member sells are "1.5W". They're all the same diodes, and this is one of the most fundamental realities that anyone working with then frequently should know.

I think it's great to have a more diverse supplier base for all of the things we consume in this community. I simply think you would be more successful and credible if you engaged in our community a bit first. Join us, we're friendly (despite any impression my comments here may have given you). Learn about lasers, make some, read a bunch, write a bunch, and become familiar with the basics. Then, IMO, you'll be in a good position to start selling things.

Re: 445nm 1.5w+ Diodes for sale!

Another issue is your approach

WOOHOO! Best! Hot! Won't last!

Oh BTW, I have no experience and I am selling the same stuff as everyone else

You may want to do a bit more market analysis before you jump in with your face exposed.

This may work in fleabay, but the members here are a bit more sophisticated about these diodes than the general public.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** -- You should also probably be made aware that your entire posting history is available to the members here
1) How do you get those out of the DLP projector?
2) I did my first build
3) WooHoo! Buy my hot diodes!

Re: 445nm 1.5w+ Diodes for sale!

____________________________________

:( You all seem to have the wrong idea..

Forgive me for jumping in and 'exposing my face', with advertising about selling diodes for a competitive price..
- I'm not claiming that I have a 'better' product, just at a lower price for the same product.
- I only meant 'HOT' as in: the popular high-power 445nm diodes from a A140 DLP.

All of you started here with No rep and probably little to No experience with Lasers...
I only started here with no rep, Sorry that I did not prove my experience first..
I didn't mean to start off like this, lol.. I don't want any more 'bad rep'... :yabbem:
so please , before anyone else further criticizes my statements in anyway, I'll make sure for now to just post my work before any 'selling'...

I am aware of the posting history....
but you stated: "1) How do you get those out of the DLP projector?".
..huhh? I'm a bit confused  .. that's irrelevant to my post.
I only asked:
"How and Where did you get all those DLPs?" and "Do you know what other DLP projectors use high power laser diodes, other than the Casio A140s, A150s, etc..?"

btw, and no offense, if you don't have any experience, yet you are selling the same stuff, how do you know anything about what you are selling?
And how do you acquire the items? Do you extract/build them yourself? ..or are you just a salesman?

Sorry if I mis-characterized your question. You are correct it was not, "How do I get them out?" it was "Where do you get them?" and "Do they come in other things?"

So three weeks ago you didn't even know where these diodes came from and now you are an expert.

Please forgive my quick read of the thread. You did not even start it. My bad. You just jumped in, three weeks ago, looking to figure out where the diodes came from.

I stand corrected

The statement about "no experience" was about you

Sorry if it was not stated clearly enough

It is easy to figure out who and what I am. My record is just as open as your record is ;)

Peace,
dave

Yes. It was. :shhh:

He came back from people trying to tell him where he went wrong by accusing me of being a salesman (implying that I was in competition with him).

Instead of listening to the people talking to him and trying to learn how to develop this market, he chose rather to attack the person

I simply pointed out he was even more of a NooB than I had characterized him earlier.

Peace,
dave
