No I didn't miss out. I canceled my order Aug 24th. But what did the smart switch have to do with the comment? I don't think a smart switch is a bad idea, any laser that is 1w I think should have some kind of safety. Actually any laser over 5mw is supposed to have some type of safety switch to be legal in the U.S., so I am told.
I would really hate it if my granddaughter got a hold of it, turned it on and would be permanantly blind! Do you use a laser with out safety glasses?

My lasers are locked up with my guns.

The smart switch is one of the reasons for the long delay.

Not really, I now people that odered G1 without the smart switch and still have not got them!

I originally ordered a G1 and in July I received an e-mail and opted for the G2.
