More than likely this is an issue with the threads on the copper diode module being slightly on the tight side. The G-1 lenses we sell are made by a veteran LPF member and use a commercial lens housing. All of them would probably fit the same.

I don't know.... I tried screwing in the g1in backwards for this same reason and it threaded great.

Look closely at the threads and see if there is a burr on them. Sometimes running the tip of a hobby knife along the threads will remove the burr, or at least smooth it out.

I can thread it now but it has to be slowly or else it feels like I may turn the diode/heatsink

Gently turn the lens back and forth in the module and it should eventually loosen up.
