What's really bad are these ebay supposed 5mw blues that are really 75mw 405nm, that is so dangerous.
But on the other hand if people start with a burner that needs glasses then they have to learn safety, with a 5mw 532 they may learn to behave badly.
It's sadly out of our hands except to warn people.

This is another run. I'm measuring voltage across the diode. I'm don't think that's accurate. I think it's higher current then that.

Ok it's in the ballpark, what about divergence, can you get a video of the spot/line at 10 or 15 feet? Even 5 feet.

Voltage across the diode isn't the same as current. To measure current you'd have to put a current meter in series with the diode, but I've heard that isn't good for the diode. The other way would be placing a high power/low resistance shunt in series and metering the voltage across it.

You want to measure current with an inductive meter.
Divergence is simple, focus it at a brick 10 feet away and measure the line.

I know you have to run it through the meter to get an accurate current reading. The guy who makes these drivers told me to test it like that. I know it's not good having the diode unsoldered to the driver, because if it's a shaky connection the capacitor will load up then potentially send a surge to the diode and damage it.

I think I'm a bit confused. Was that 4.5V or so what the diode is seeing? I thought they were higher than that. Looking back I see you said you were going to test it like Jordan does. Would like to plot a curve and see what is going on.
I don't think there are many members who own a clamp on meter that can read DC amps. I happen to own a very good one (Fluke 381) because I justified needing it
for when I was working but I was still the only one in the company that owned one that could read DC A as you could get by without it. Wouldn't recommend anyone buy an expensive new one. If you really want one buy it used on Ebay. You also might be able to buy an add on piece for your meter.

You have to watch out, they will say AC/DC but some are AC/DC voltage but AC current only, make sure you get DC current, they are more expensive.

I don't think that clamp on is DC amps. As far as I can tell that is the same as this one:
