So I have decided on building a high powered 445 laser, and I am going to buy the diode from DTR. I was looking for a host that can fit either 1x or 2x 18650 batteries. I would prefer for the host to be 70$ And under. Do you guys have any in mind?

Check out MrCrouse's host kits. They are very well priced and are VERY nice so you can run your laser for many minutes without having to turn it off and let it cool.

The C11 and C8 hosts are great. They accept one 18650 but you can get extension tubes to fit two!

Just search "MrCrouse host kit" in the search bar below.

This is my first build, and I really don't like the c6 or 501b host. I am definitely going to use one of DTR's diodes (60$ option), but I am looking for a host that has the driver and pill already installed. I think sinner might have a few like that. I just want the total to be under $150, and I have goggles, so all I have to do is buy the parts. Does anyone know how many watts a DTR diode will output at 2.3a?

The diode and driver come together, and the host and pill come together.

Get the pre-wired module from DTR. not just a diode. :) good luck. It may be more expensive but it definitely the way to go. In the end by the time you buy a driver and take the chance of killing the diode when soldering it, you will be very happy you bought them pre-wired.

Sorry, thats what I meant :) I bet you can tell Im new to this. I will look at his pre-wired modules. Am I correct when I say you solder them to the driver which is pre installed in the host (if you buy it like that, which I will) and you just assemble and go? I was looking at this: 445nm M140 Diode In Copper Module With Leads & Three Element Glass Lens $60

Get the m140 1.7w with x drive.
It's like $100. Then grab a 501B host from Mrcrouse for $20 . You solder the red to red, black to black, and your done for $120 :D

The driver comes attached the m140.

The pill and contact board is on t he host. Mrcrouse has two ted and black wired sticking out of the host already to solder the driver to. ( which is already attached to the m140 module. ) two joints. Super easy.
