There is a phosphor disk that uses the blue light to make both the green & the red.

I don't think that's accurate.... clearly the phosphor disk is making green, red, AND blue, out of 589 ;)

Here is a comparison shot. Apart from a minute focus difference looks to be about the same.

How much does the original projector cost? (Would these diodes be significantly more expensive than the standard 445 diodes?)

I would like to get my hands on one, but I'm sure they have all been accounted for.

A tiny bit more than 2x the price.

Well, don't expect these diodes to be everywhere. Right now, the only supplier is DTR, and I think he only has 4 left on eBay (I grabbed one) for $125 :p

I didn't even realize they were being sold. I thought there was probably some sort of private GB and they had all already been sold ;)

At that price I will wait for them to be tested. I'm sure if they are much better there will be more of them popping up.

Eh. I sucked it up and grabbed it. I figure why not, since I already have a pure aluminum 9mm can and a spare G2 ;) I won't push it very hard until it's been tested though.

Thanks Jordan for the sharing- and also TY to Dave, Andy and others adding to the info on these 9mm.

BTW

Just a FYI-

- 9mm blank modules and empty lens nuts are in stock a AixiZ and shipping is reasonable and very quick to CONUS-

shipping is also offered world-wide at AixiZ (Houson TX)

Blank glass lens mount 10 pack for AixiZ 12X30mm units, AixiZ

AixiZ 5 pack 15x50mm for 9mm diodes Housing Blanks, AixiZ

as well as copper blank modules(only the part where you press the die is copper) for both 5.6 & 3.8 diodes (made by Pontiacg5 in Kansas USA.)

They really were not. Most of them went to people that took the risk with me. I kept 5 to offer up on eBay to try to get something for my risk and time. I actually advised Wolfman not to buy them as I was asking a lot and he may just end up with a M140 quality diode just in a unique package but he decided he wanted one anyway. I currently have 2 left now plus the one that I have been testing.

Yeah - I figure why not? If anything, these will have better thermal properties because they have larger surface area to conduct to the Aixiz module. Who knows?

Iam going to plot everything like i did with the 638nm 500mW diode.:)

Lets see what one can do.;)
