I'm not sure if it has already been stated, but how does one go about using the lens that comes with this diode?

Have we come to a consensus that a G lens does NOT work? I read somewhere the lens doesn't sit close enough to the diode?

The G lens works just fine, it just has to be mounted very close to the diode facing end of the lens housing.

When it was discovered that the G-2's barrel does not allow for them to get close enough I changed to a new barrel that works with the 9mm diode so if you bought one from me previously it will not work with the 9mm diode but if you get one from me now they will.

For the stock lens I will have the new barrels available for $15.:)

Has anyone tried to cool below zero the 9mm diode to push further the current and try to establish the maximum power that can be obtained at extreme conditions?
It could be experimented with liquid nitrogen or a small Danfoss compressor or a stirling cooler etc. or even simply put the diode in a freezer...

Hey Luke.:)

Yes I have. I have written down the numbers as well too.

Iam at work now so ill have to check when i get home but there is a Point where I noticed past 0C that chilling anymore does nothing.

My 3.4W Laser in the pictures i posted here was Chilled at the max before chilling anymore did nothing.

I can give you some numbers tonight of the 2 diodes i tested chilled down to ~<0C

Thanks DTR. I'll be buying a couple of these when those barrels come in :)

Will you also offer the diode with the lens already mounted?

What about the barrels for the included lens with the 9mm diode?

Yes I have them too. Sorry been running around a little crazy today and have not had time to get it up on my site. I will get it up later tonight but if you can't wait I can shoot you an invoice now.

DTR, a suggestion, Make something we can purchase that includes the 9mm diode and the lens already pre installed in the lens holder. I don't trust myself with those optics...

I still have not refined my extraction of the lens and don't trust myself to get 100% of them extracted and in the lens holder perfectly every time yet which is why that option is not available as of now. If you want to use the lens you will need to work it out yourself for the time being.:)

Installing it in the barrel is the easy part. Extracting it and getting the glue off it is the delicate time consuming part.:)
