Getting the lens off the diode is the easy part. Getting the lens out of the holder is a little more tricky but not too bad plus there were some good suggestions above for that.

Also I just got the 9mm modules from the group buy that have the correct length. I will be offering an option for the 9mm diodes pressed in these copper modules with leads and the lens still in the bracket will be on the side in a bag but if you just need a couple of the modules alone you can buy them as well just shoot me a PM.:)

I am going to machine these modules down to the length I need. Problem solved there.

This is definitely more work than I had anticipated for. I need to know what I need to press these diodes into their housings and do I need to use some sort of thermal compound or adhesive? Otherwise I can handle the soldering and the removal of the lens.

Also do you think paint thinner will affect the AR coating? It is great for dissolving glue and other adhesives.

Thanks

YES !, This option I was hoping to see so much time. This diode with its correct copper module, together. The time of 9mm diodes lasers has come :) (now I am impatient to see this option available.):)

Ok I get how to get the lens out of the holder, how are you guys removing the holder with the lens in it from the diode?

Well I let DTR have his shine enough.:D I want some now.;)

Here is a Handheld Build iam Working on using a SINGLE DIODE. I turned down the currant ~ 1A to leave some more to you guys imagination as well as edited the Picutre so you dont see the build yet.:)

 :eg: :wtf: :D

Pick taken About 5 seconds after it hit the 2.14/2.15A Currant:shhh:

Pretty sweet. Enjoy your spot at the top.

I was the first to post a single diode passing 2W and now I was the first to post one passing 3W. So I will see him again @ 4W.:na:

That should be interesting ^_^

So is it safe to say 2.2-2.3 Amps for these diodes?

Wow that is an impressive output

Were you guys using a G1/2 or the included lens?
has anyone done a comparison at 445nm?

Nope. Ive lost 1 already at 2.1A. So I still think we need more testing.

I cant tell yet.

@Justin I was using a different lens that i bought from someone over on PL about 6 months ago. Its the best lens Ive used. Puts out ~ 17mW more then a G lens at 1W. However the lens was 80$. So x3 its ~50mW Better.

Best advice i can give is, If you dont care if your kill your diode and can afford to buy more then its up to you. Killing 100$+ Diodes is not fun but its part of the game when your searching for the highest power and when you are one of the few people out there that are willing to take losses to get new information.

I still wont recommend anything yet.

In my findings so far they can take more. The questions is how much. 5mA more or 500mA more then 1.8A.:undecided:

Thanks for testing them Lazeerer & DTR, it's helpfull for everyone but i don't plan on making one of these for a while so when I do hopefully there's a bit more info :)

No point in saving 50 bucks on a lens when you potentialy have the most powerfull 445 diode in the world :eg:

How does the included lens stack up?

My testing on the included lens was almost there about a 20-30mW bump over the G-1/2's @ 1.8A which is still the current I am recommending till more people give feedback on these diodes giving us a better idea where the upper limit is.
