Thanks Jordan. Moment of truth huh.?:)

I think these can take more. Ill find out very soon.:eg:

Is the Threshold the Same as our 5.6mm diodes.?

Also does it look like it slowly fading with Currant Vs mW the Higher Currant you go or at 1.9A its still increasing Normally.?

just a note on the way i have seen diodes work
Generally what ever the data sheet is we can push it 2x.
300mw 635nm diodes do 500mw and 600mw just fine
the 500mw casio diodes do 1W just fine
So i would think if it can do 1.6 it should be able to do 3.
just think a 3W portable laser.
All we need now is a 4A boost driver

A 4A boost driver will drain one 3.7V IMR battery in minutes. We need a more beefier power source or multiple parallel batteries. Or batteries in series with a buck driver.

Does the projector only has one 9mm laserdiode ?

Looking at the beam shape on the carpet, I think its a one lens solution for correction.

Jordan, could you take a photo of the raw output better at a target 1 meter away.

I'll decan a live one as soon as mine arrives

Peace,
dave

Well offered Dave.

Will be especially interesting to see if the die is similar or the same as the higher powered 5.6mm 445s.

From all the specs, the missing third leg and over all photos I have seen, these indeed appear to be a NDB7875-E 1.6W 445. Being in the 9mm body should easily exceed 2.5W if the bond wires can take the current.

another thing, has anyone got the ability to measure the thickness of the bond wires?

No case pin?, that sucks
Edit:there's like 3 new diode threads.

Not sure why that's an issue. The case pin isn't used on the 5.6mm diodes.

Case negative/positive builds. Some builders like to connect the pin of the host polarity to the case pin. Or the case pin the the -in On the driver like I had to do for my 12X. It just limits this diode from being used in some hosts.

Just solder a bridge from the negative pin to the case

Viola! A case negative diode
(You can solder more than one wire to a pin, you know ;) )

I imagine that this diode is the NDB7875 of 1.6W from Nic......

You're right, I just never found it necessary in my builds.
