Mine Came Off really easy.

I Put the Lens Part in a Vice and Wiggled the Diode loose from the Lens Holder.

Less then 5 seconds and It cam Off.

You wiggle until you hear the first crack in the Glue. Then wiggle some more and it comes right off.

WOo Hoo i want one! It amazes me every time i think about just how fast technology progresses.. a few years back mobile phones were bricks, now im sat here with a quadcore 1.5ghz with a 4.7inch HD screen. Lasers are the same, constantly amazing me!! smaller more powerful things arrive one after another, i love living in this technological filled world. I just wish we lived longer!!... sorry for going off topic. wow 3watt 445nm sooo cool well done dude;)

Maybe I have missed some posts, but is this saying the 9mm's do have higher performance? Also, what current and were you using a lens?

I don't have one of these yet, but I did have one for a weekend! :D

Whoa  3W from a single diode! What current did you run it at to get that much out of it?

NICE, what current?

Hey guys sorry slept in a little today.:tired:

It is running @ 2.25A. It does drop fairly quickly but if I run it 2.1A it holds a lot steadier and peaks just over 2.9W. I just had to crank it a little for a peak of over 3W.:eg:

Anyway I was waiting for my new Frankenstein host to do another record breaking review/tutorial with this diode but it did not seem the 3W barrier was going to last so I ended up posting this.

Now Angelos will probably be along shortly with some details on his that peaks over 3W as well.

The only downside to these is that @ 2.2A this thing is sucking down 5.2V.

It will be interesting to see how some of the boost drivers we use will cope with this.

Oh and I will add until we determine what is a save upper limit on these diodes I am still recommending 1.8A even though clearly they can take more. Need some long term data to see if there is any degradation when running over 2A.

Vegeta, What does the scouter say about his power level?

Not over 9000 but I think that scene pretty much some up this thread.

 I think I'm in love!

How long were you able to sustain >3W?
