Hello everyone, I'm literally new to these forums but I'm not quite a noob completely when it comes to lasers. I've built two others smaller lasers, both 650nm, one 30mV and the other 200mV. I'm been on these forums looking around for answers and such for my new project: I figured it was only polite and fair to join and introduce myself.

I've been looking to create a very powerful laser for my pleasure. I'm looking to push 2W, if not more, here is what I've purchased recently.

Laser Build:
2W 445nm Laser Diode (M140)
Blitzbuck V3 Driver (Adjust to 1500mA)
Copper 5.56mm Diode Head
405-G-2 AR Lenses w/ Focus
12x30mm Module
Copper Gold Plated Heat Sink
Arctic 5 Thermal Compound
Aurora C6 Host

Total Cost: $158

I also plan on literally waterproof the entire casing with NeverWet (when it's finally related to retail) and installing appropriate sized gaskets to further enhance it's "waterproof" characteristics. And of course I have the appropriate eye wear already, this goes without saying. As if my eyes aren't bad enough already lol

If you haven't already heard of NeverWet, it's a super hydrophobic coating that completely repels water and liquids, check it out. http://www.neverwet.com/anti-wetting.php

I'm not bad at soldering, I've been practicing a lot more on resistors and wires and such, trying to get the perfect joint weld. Are their any suggestions or tips anyone would like to give me?

Are you sure you're not ?
That's mW, not mV. The different is HUGE.

Anyway, good luck :]
