Today I finished my 3W beast. The all aluminum finish combined with the blue beam looks awesome.
Specs:
-445nm
-2x 18650 2300mAh
-blitz buck V5 survival laser driver @ 2.4A
-three elements glass lens
- NDB7875 from DTR

Nice host. Where did you get it? I have this same build in an MS-SSW II with two 26650 batteries. Congratulations. Mine does 3 watts with a G lens. Don't think you can get that with the three element lens.

Thanks, I got the host from survival lasers. Was your host from Sinner? Your right about the three elements glass lens not being able to deliver 3W. I want to get a g2 sometime.

Yes, I got it back when Sulman was still making hosts. IIRC I got that host in the beginning of 2014 and paid around $100.00 plus shipping. Yours seems to be about the same size, but it's hard to tell without something of known size in the photo. Very nice, though.

Nice job--great looking, the S4X, in the plain Al finish.

Great looking laser and build. Congrats! Loving the look of bare metal but isn't the survival actually stainless?

Thanks :yh: . It says bare aluminum on the site, and it has the same color as the heat sink, which is aluminum.

Nice clean build! Gotta love the feel of an s4x, I say "what a beast" every time I grab the thing lol.

Also the 7875 is a great diode, have you thought about trying a G7 from sanwu? I have one on my 7875 and personally I love it. It's a great mix of 3 element and g2 and since the 7875s divergence isn't too bad, the g7 seems to keep it nice and tame. None the less, great build!
