Here it is, my first build, and boy did it hurt my pocketbook. :(

I bought the Nichia diode with the G2 xdrive 2.4A and copper module from ebay from a gentleman from St Louis. At 30 feet, the divergence is so great, you can underline words in a presentation. Wasn't expecting that, but oh well. It's still a strong diode.

The heatsink, I bought from ebay, but i have a better copper one now. The saber parts came from the custom saber shop. I made the lipo battery pack, but i ordered a nice wafer stick battery for airsoft 7.4v from evike.com.

I use a key on the pommel, which lights up the switch and makes the main button live. The key is a simple shorted 3.5mm media plug. I made the module to be easily removable, so i can transfer it to a different host without any problems, such as my old TOC phaser.

Petty sweet I have often thought of doing that very same build , but beware posting this over there they really frown on lasers in their hilts.

Can you give some more pics and some build details?

Very very cool build, I've also looked at those as a possible host, it's nice to see one done so well, good job.
More pics would be great, can't have too many pics!

I am redoing the wiring this week. I posted a prototype build. I'm going to shorten the wires, and make everything the way it's supposed to be done. I'm still waiting on the blade plug as the finishing touch. This has already grown into a $400 undertaking, but at least i have tons of wire....both stranded and solid.

that being said, I'll be sure to take photos when the thing is "naked". Settle down....

Saber forge has some sweet hilts. I might try the jade fire design next time. I want to see about using a flex drive, then remove and replace the pot, so i can externalize the knob and adjust the laser intensity. I'll just need to be sure to guarantee the knob doesn't turn beyond the max position.

I still have much to learn.
