So this is my first build and before you say search around...I have and with so many options my head is spinning. First, this is what I have determined for parts.
5.6mm 445nm 1w laser diode (not sure if this is blue ray tho) 5.6mm 445nm ~1W laser diode [M0020] - $51.99 : Modwerx Shop

micro boost drive Micro BoostDrive DC/DC Converter Portable Laser Driver [M0003] - $25.99 : Modwerx Shop

module w/ AR coated lens Laser module w/ heatsink and AR coated glass lens (405-450nm) [M0019] - $12.99 : Modwerx Shop

Second, Will the micro boost drive be a good match for the diode? Would I have to change anything?

What is a good battery for this set up?

Any help is much appreciated!

Don't forget your required Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses
for that High Powered Laser....

Save yourself some hassle, get a FlexDrive with current pre-set and wires soldered and mounted with a G-2 Lens
1.3W 445nm Blue Laser Module
W/Microboost & 405-G-2 Glass Lens
$130

PM DTR he is the man..
And for the host, its the best way to go.. Moh's C6 are great.

Or There is another *super saver option what i call it*
If money is an issue, PM mohrenberg for a JAD(just add diode kit) he sells them on LPF for $30 with Driver, 3-element Glass Lens AR Coated and Heatsink..

All u need is a Diode which u can either get it from Modwerx $52 or DTR $45

5.6mm 445nm ~1W laser diode [M0020] - $51.99 : Modwerx Shop

EDIT: Dude where are your safety goggles?
Just in case you think why everyone brags about it to the noobs...

Nobody would sell you anything if u havent got the proper eyewear..
Here are nice safety goggles that u can get:

Yea Dtr does have that but a Buck driver would be better for a 445 and 2 bats

Linear bleads excess voltage as heat while bucks turn that into current the extra current or bat life is worth the extra $$ imo

^^Am i missing something?

FlexDrive is a buck/boost driver ~5.5V
Whereas;
Microboost is BOOST ONLY!

And then we have Linear Drivers.. You need some READING.. !!
And btw what's wrong with using a Single Cell with High Efficiency driver instead of a linear driver.. And as for buck driver, you didnt answered what driver u are referring to. Please be specific when you post.

The flex drive has a Max input of 5.8 volts the x-drive has a Max input of 13 volts and the c6 host accepts 2x 16340s. Boost type drivers generally(not always) have lower efficiencies than buck drivers

The only thing i have to ask is did you figure out how to put the diode in there aswell the lens? This module has a screw in diode thing idk its cool but the other module takes more "work" forsay you have to press the diode in this one you drop the diode in and screw the copper ring ontop. RIGHT?
