Hello everybody!

Finally got down to doing up this laser after the diode + module + driver arrived from DTR! Thanks DTR!

The driver is set to 1.5A and I'm using an Aixiz glass lens. Can't measure the output... yet.

The top part is machined by my friend ( it houses the diode+module+lens and a flexdrive )

It has little fins, we wanted to add 5 fins but thought it would've been overkill.

The host uses 4xAA batteries, so its really convenient! I'll go take some beamshots and upload it now! Its 3.10am here, the beams should look quite nice.

PS. The laser isn't finished yet, we haven't added a switch yet.

Lemme know what you guys think!

Beamshots!

Interesting it looks like violet in this shot

Nice build. Looks like good work on the heat sink; clean and snug. Does it use a set screw, or is it just a press fit? Oh, and the thing about overkill - it never fails ;) Could we see some pics of the whole thing? I bet it's a long sucker, to use 4x AAs.

Congrats on a fine looking laser! Stay safe with it!

Thank you! It uses a set screw to keep the module in there. Anyone with better ideas? I wanna keep it as clean as possible!

My next build should be a copper one and a copy of the Fenix TK10 since I have one lying around ;)

Sure is long. Bout 25cm hahaha!

Nice work I really like the host. I cant wait to make my own host, what mW do you get with 1.5A through the driver? Or do you not have an LPM?

Good work! :D

Hello guys! The laser is in a kaputt state now.

Due to some resoldering work, I accidentally melted something off the driver.

The only way for me to fix this is to get a new driver, solder them to the diode and power supply right?

Well you could resolder the component that came loose.. But it might be broken due to heat.. Also flex drives are kinda rare right now so i would go with ben boosts they are bad for 405nM's but not for 445nM.

Do you have a test load? Then you can check if youre driver is working properly!

Anyways can you do some magic on you lathe for members here? It is allways nice to have people with lathe's on this forum

Greetings,,
