Default Re: A message from our company

I love how useless this thread turned in a day...

Personally if something like this is stickied, I believe it should come from a LPF member at least if not a well known one. I certainly would feel better with a message being there form some one who I know I could talk to. But I guess it's better than nothing for now.
I vote sticky something else similar.... from some one actually here...

Though that is for a 9mm LD and not 5.6mm, but the characteristics
seem to be in close relation.

its all semantics... i know a flame war is coming after this but i don't care... you guys are crazy. other than mario master and a few others with sophisticated measuring equipment the rating and cat# designations don't mean anything to anybody here. we all push both diodes around the same power. so the extra 500 lumens split between 24diodes isnt a huge deal of power. so a130 a140 who cares. i have an a130 running at 1600ma. its got like over 2 hours of run time on it with minimal heatsinking. ording a 445 from my source has never been an issue.
"a130 a140 it's all the info i need" LoL... what do you know, where did each come from, what batch number, what qc person passed them? LoL ROFL LuLz.... cuz bottom line the we all agree that no 2 diodes behave the same. and the differences between the the 2 catnumbers aren't worth the headache.

The diodes are identical except for VERY slight differences in efficiency.. not enough to matter in my book since as chip says above, we overdrive every laser diode we use around here.. specs don't matter at all really.

Here are a few of the key parts that you would never hear come out of a PR department of any kind...

- "we cannot risk lawsuits filed by those idiotic persons who harm themselves or others with "casio lasers."

- "To combat the problem we have made the diodes harder to extract with odd-head screws and thread locker" - Note that a PR department would be using the proper terms for the screws and adhesive used.

- "one is to come to this forum and ask the people here stop selling "casio lasers" to incompetent persons. " - First they would never address us as a community but would seak resolution from the site owner who controls what occurs on the Forum, and again the term "incompetent" would never be uttered by a PR department.

- "since anyone intelligent enough to build their own laser likely knows how to use it responsibly."

- "Sell these homemade lasers to only people who you trust to do the right thing, and do not market them as "casio lasers"."

First they tell us not to sell them, then to only sell them to "people we trust" lol. This thing has so many holes in it that it's sinking faster than the Titanic. There is just no way that this could possibly be real, besides all of the vocabulary you would never see the PR use there are grammer issues all through this post that once again you would never see coming from any PR department "you people"
Exactly, it reads like it was written by a junior high student.

Well... I took some classes with mass-com majors. So now I'm not so sure.

Anyway, NOTHING from a troll should ever be made a sticky. That's just like dumping honey on your tent in bear country. Don't do it.

If LPF's position on "Casio diodes" does mirror this, out of some concern that Casio take more steps to curtail projector and diode availability, then a mod, or other member in good standing can write a statement and have that stickied.

Whats wrong with 140 and 130 and 150. Thats what I have always called them. And that has a lot less connection to the company. 140 is just a number but A140 is tied with the company.

To me the validity of a statement isn't dependent on who writes it. Fact is fact, truth is truth no matter who's talking.

Regarding the A1XX designations, I think that simply avoiding the use of the projector manufacturer's name is all that is necessary. Anything further is splitting hairs.

And this is the new 9mm model ..... but i suppose that, for a big order from a manufacturer like Casio, they (or any other company with similar products) can easily have produced a batch with the 9mm chip in the 5,6mm case .....

yeah people, u get the message. Just don't screw up casio, they don't deserve that as WE are using their diodes

look what I found:
News - CASIO
here anyone can find at contact info:
Contact: Cheryl Balbach
Casio Inc.
973-361-5400
pr@casio.com

fake: the first post was signed as "Mary".

at the end of the page, it can be found: Casio, Inc., Dover, N.J., is the U.S. subsidiary of Casio Computer Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, Casio, Inc.

Don't have to explain, I really think it is a fake. but a "good fake"

Could it simply be that they're driving the diodes in the 150 at a slightly higher current?

I doubt it.. I would imagine that the duty cycle is altered as model numbers increase, leading to more average brightness. While in the projector the diodes are never run CW, always pulsed.
