The laser may not have been focused as best as it could, plus that tends to be a camera artifact. Pictures tend to turn out like that even with my greens sometimes.

Hell yeah this is epic (@ Jayrob).

1: it's TRUE BLUE!!
2: It's a class IV 500mw+ freakin laser!
3: It's a diode, so easy to use
4: its only 50 frikkin dollars!!!
5: do we really even need a five?

PS: Let me get this straight, this diode will run perfectly fine under the standard aixiz acrylic? No need for any additional special lenses? I will probably get a 405-G-1 just cuz....600mW blue laser ftw....that and the acrylic will no doubt get owned by the epic power of said laser, but it's fine just in the standard lens?

I will start hunting for a decent XA rated clicky switch of the same dimensions, will post, if anything comes up.

I just tried it and the lens did sit inside the lens nut nicely but I couldn't get the lens close enough to the diode to focus it properly. Will experiment more to see if I can get it closer

It will work with a standard acrylic lens, but I would make sure the lens holder (black plastic threaded part) is opened up in the back. There is usually a small hole in the back of the acrylic lens assembly, this must be removed or expanded considerably or the back will melt under this kind of power.

Yeah I'm thinking at that power glass is a must...

In a few days, we'll know what lens configuration will be best with all the people testing...

I only really have three lenses in mind to test for now...

* Stock projector lens
* AixiZ 405 glass
* 405-G-1

That is what I need to adjust my cylinder lens.
Maybe I'm going to try this with this 445nm diode, maybe I can achieve good beam if I include cylinder lens.

But this is going to be tricky without having access to lathe machine.

I see this from time to time. It happens when the beam is really close to the camera, so it appears large. And as any object gets further away, it seems to shrink. Then, finally divergence becomes noticeable and it appears to grow in size again.

Did you want tail cap clickies? Like on LED flashlights? If so then I don't think those will work, those are more like side clickies. I will do more digging for tailcaps now, and if those will do...then you'll just have multiple options

PS: First post in the new 445nm section

Some clicky switch options, they don't give any technical info on em. But here they are:
