Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

I received my Ehgemus Hosts yesterday. As soon as I got home I plugged the soldering Iron in and got to work. The diode is pressed directly into the host for good heatsinking. It runs on a flexdrive and a single protected 18650 battery. I have not received my glass lens yet so I am using a standard acrylic lens. The output is 1100mW or 1.1 Watt with the plastic lens. Glass lens should yield 1200mW I am guessing. I love this laser. It is very nice. I just wish this power was achievable in my Chrome pocket mini.
At what current are you getting 1.1W with an ACRYLIC lens? lol

Re: FINALLY 445 arrived and running + pics

I know you've all seen pics of 445nm lasers and I have not built it into a lab build yet... but I'm as excited as a kid a christmas, so humour me please... :tinfoil:
Oh please we love pictures! They are some really nice beamshots too. No need to humour you.
I love a blue beam in thin air! Green is nice but blue is where my hearts at baby.
No smoke yes?

Re: FINALLY 445 arrived and running + pics

A little bit of smoke actually, just a smidge. These blue lasers really light up with even a merest trace of smoke, I suspect they fluoresce the glycerol/glycol particles in the air...
I'll take some more pics, I don't see many really good beam shots of 445nm coherent light yet so I'll see if I can do better.

I've just been down stairs bouncing the 445 off a small mirror glued onto a spring. It's pretty cool actually! A nice effect for zero$

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

My diode has just arrived and here are some pictures and video of this diode.

And video...

YouTube - 445nm Laser diode quick test

I used aixiz glass lens for Red lasers and beam was very acceptable.
Divergence of fast axis is about 1.704mRad, that is better than my O-Like 150mW DPSS laser.

I can't believe you have a robot just hanging around playing with your laser. What if he decides he doesn't like you and burns out your eyes?

Re: yet another 445nm build

Maybe some details?
Power (settings/output), driver, module (Aixiz?)?
and LOL at the cardboard "project box"

It's actually closer to 700mW-800mW, but will change when I get my lens from Aixiz and I can bump up the current.

i love the original host. its great and i still intend on using it.

codiejman: it was the box that parts for the laser came in LOL, i said that will do.
designedfor1: Wadsworth would never do that... i keep him happy with a constant influx of lasers
Ash: it is an aixiz in a dx 70mW heatsink i have a ddl that will push it to 1 watt but im scared to use it so i have a rckstr maxed out... it chews through 9v's like they were fun sized candies on Halloween.

Well as long as Wadsworth is happy and doesn't turn into a psychopath :)gun:), then I guess your in the clear. Oh by the way, you build looks very nice!
