Re: My Second build

FP this host his way better than the 18650 host in my opinion. Plus it has a stand.

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

Nice! What are each of those lasers putting out?

Wish I could give you an exact number but I don't own an LPM as of yet. But the green is definitely over 200mws. The blue burns as fast as the 396mw 8x I have so its around there.

This also is a 18650 host ;)

@ Cenobite9 When you have the 445 next to a 405 there is no question the 445 looks light blue almost aqua blue and when it's by it's self it looks a a briliant navy blue to me.

Re: My Second build

Looks awesome, i love it :)
Is there a possibility to obtain a Tank host w/o driver&diode?
Id just need the heatsink and host :)

FINALLY 445 arrived and running + pics

I've been hanging out for this to arrive, plus the module, lens and driver parts from o-like. The diode turned up yesterday and today my o-like order. I know you've all seen pics of 445nm lasers and I have not built it into a lab build yet... but I'm as excited as a kid a christmas, so humour me please... :tinfoil:

The module is the black, aluminium host with some heat sinking fins in built. The lens I'm using is the glass lens coated for 405nm, I think it's identical to the aixiz 405-G?

I'm using the basic little driver sold by o-like (HERE) running pretty much flat out and feeding just under 500mA to the diode. I don't want to push it any harder, I'm planning on adding it to my crazy laser projector machine and it'll overpower the other colours if it's any brighter. 500mA is bright enough!

Fyi the lens in the o-like 405 module is an aixiz 405 glass lense. Or at least i think so.

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

I received my Ehgemus Hosts yesterday. As soon as I got home I plugged the soldering Iron in and got to work. The diode is pressed directly into the host for good heatsinking. It runs on a flexdrive and a single protected 18650 battery. I have not received my glass lens yet so I am using a standard acrylic lens. The output is 1100mW or 1.1 Watt with the plastic lens. Glass lens should yield 1200mW I am guessing. I love this laser. It is very nice. I just wish this power was achievable in my Chrome pocket mini.

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

Watch out with that acrylic at that high power, the back reflections can nuke the diode.

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

Great looking host! Does it incorporate a built-in focus adapter?

Also, what current do you have your FlexDrive set at?

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm

Yes that is a focus adaptor that the lens screws directly into. As for the current it is between 1A and 1.5A. I measured it at 1A and then moved the pot until I hit the output I wanted and didn't bother re-testing the final setting.

Re: FINALLY 445 arrived and running

Thanks Adrian - damn, I thought my images to were too big to be embedded in a post, I'll have to sort that out for future posts. Cheers :)
