To tell you the truth I am not sure. I thought it was 750mA in the A140 but don't quote me on that.

Time for a test then. :)
Solder a testload to the diode array and measure the current.

750mA sounds reasonable,

The A140 and M140 are both 2500 lumens right?
and they both have 24 diodes right?

So would that mean that the m140's have to be ran at a lower current?
or mabye they are over spec...

It depends on what mode you were in. It was either ~700mA at 50% duty cycle, 1.4A at 50% duty cycle, or 1.4A at 60% duty cycle (at several hundred Hz)

That sounds wierd, wouldnt the duty cycle be 66% regardless of what mode you are in?
On for 1/3 blue, on for 1/3 green, and off for 1/3 red?
I guess it isn't that simple...

I did see the peak current for an A140 was 1.44A in a thread on PL, but they didnt say what the duty cycle was
