Just received this beast from yobresal and got so very close to 3W after chilling it down to 38 °F on my windowsill...

Thats really incredible! Getting an M140 diode that efficient is very rare. I think the only other one Ive seen was from AnthoT, he was getting 2.6 W @ 1.8 A with a 3 ELEMENT LENS! Ufortunately, I dont think he ever tried it with a G lens... :(

Just noticed your response time for the LPM was very quick too. Are you using an Ophir head?

Yeah, I have an Ophir head attached to a Kenometer Pro.

Output dropped about 200mW once the laser was brought up to room temperature...

Hmmm. You have entered the history books good job. Let us know how it goes at those power levels.

Very nice. Yep when you cool them they see amazing increases in power. That is close to 3°C which would give you a huge bump. The best is if you can maintain the temperature with a TEC. I still sounds like a pretty efficient unit even with the cooling. Also a word of caution If you are cooling your laser a lot you can get condensation in there from the quick temperature changes.
