Is this the same ***** 445 nm that others are getting or is this one different?
Cool set up. Thank the FSM for computer CPU heat sinks!

Same diodes, just 2 of them combined into a single beam

LOL I can hear your fans speed up when you cut the power back to the array and vice versa. Reminds me of using a shop vac to pick up water when it gets full and the little ball gets sucked into the intake! :D

Its the first thing I noticed on the first firing :eg:

When you take up water with a shop vac though,
dont forget about the violently shaking hose :)

Hi,

Nice laser. You just inspired me. I would like to build one of these. Where do you find a 3.2 W 445nm laser diode?

If you took time to read the whole thread, you would have come to the conclusion that this build consist of TWO 445nm diodes knife-edged.

If you did read the thread and failed to come to that conclusion you really should start with a lower power build, maybe a PHR for you?

Thats what you get when the*cough* *uploader* uses music in the video...

For some reason, some work and other dont... All my future videos will
be without a music track just to be safe..

Its a copyright by location type thing.. As far as I know, it works fine
in North America, but that may have also changed..

Hmm... Hadnt realized your location, but no worries..

I am working on re-uploading all my videos that had music.
I noticed a while back that certain locations couldnt view them
so since then I have pulled them up from the archive, just have to re post.

Its okay though, that video is like so last week :D

my new stuff is much better

BTW the track is an edited version of a Floyd song..

Well let's see it! Floyd is one of the big reason I got into lasers so that sounds just phenomenal

WOW all i can say is must have been expensive.

Actually it started as a prototype for a handheld design. I made it in a
labby form so the work piece wouldnt keep rolling off my desk :D
The cost was only that of the 2 LD's, aluminum stock, and a few
hours spent on the mill..

@jakegt, the video is the same laser in my avatar...

Some of the 3.2W footage was added... Those curious may now see
