Title says it all,
I paid $350 for one of these,
it is currently being built and should be done later tonight :D

What cool things can I do with one,
Anyone have any idea's and was $350 a good price that includes some shades and a battery charger :)

Thanks

They have not built it yet but some how can tell you it will be a 2.2W?

$350 would be a good deal if confirmed. I have built quite a few units and I have not actually built a 2.2W The closest I have come is 2180mW.;)

The seller said it would be, I trust him, he knows what hes talking about like, I asked him a question about some kind of laser and he told me a lot of info about it :D

@Revoke - From whom/where did you order. If there is a credible seller of 2.5W lasers, believe me there are people on this forum quite interested.

The problem is very few diodes are capable of producing 2W+ in output:undecided:

Definitely use a middle man with an LPM for this purchase.... visually you will not know the difference between a 1.5W laser and a 2.5W.... If this is your first high power 445nm laser, you're even less likely to know. Without a side by side comparison +/- 500mW on a 1W+ laser is impossible to see.

I'm guessing they are going to round WAAAAY up. Your's would be marketed as a 2.5W;)

Being able to spew relevant information and the ability to work miracles are two different things. It is possible to have a 2.2W laser but it is not possible to set out with the idea of creating one with that guaranteed outcome. In fact it is very unlikely. I would ask to use a middle man or at the very least ask for a picture of the LPM reading.

Hell I always round down. That 2180mW I called a 2.1W

LOL! Sorry, Mate. You'll be lucky if it does 1W. In addition, last time he was here (we ran him off after ripping off members) he still couldn't solder for crap

Peace,
dave

@DTR that thing is a beast.... I was actually gonna PM you at one point about making me a laser, but than finances/etc caught up with me.

@Revoke - That member has attempted to scam people on this forum plenty of times, and is actually using pics of lasers build by others on this forum.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and pull out now. You'll be lucky to get a 1.5W laser, and for that $350 is way too much.

Ask seller to refund you.

If he refuses - which he will - say ok, but that you want to have the laser independently tested to make sure it is as advertised. Tell him that if the laser is not as advertised you will open a dispute for "Bait and Switch" with whatever payment method you used.

You used paypal I assume.

You're gonna be out on shipping, if that scenario occurs you lose out on shipping back the piece of crap, but at least you won't lose too much money.

Now's the time where you make up some BS and try not to indicate you know he's scamming you.

I'm leaving work now, but will be back online later.

Feel free to post directly on here, I mean plenty of people on here will be able to help out.
