Sup Guys,

I'm in love with this laser, it's so beautiful IMO! I was going for the Mark II
Arc Reactor look...from Iron Man! I used the stock Saik driver to power up the smd led ring, so it still has the stock high/low/and pulse modes.
The A140 445nm diode is driven by a Micro Boost drive set @ 900mA.
The heatsink was machined by Mohrenberg. I'm using a 3 element AR coated
Aixiz lense. Power supply is the stock battery holder which is for 3x AAA batteries. I'm using 3x 1.2 volt 2000mah rechargeable batteries for a combined voltage of 3.6 volts and 6000mah. (They work great).
This Arc Reactor Saik is pushing >900mW's...Let me know what you guys think of it.

Stunning! Brilliant idea to put SMD LEDs around the aperture, that must put quite a lightshow in the dark!

Just one objection, you could really use one of the beefier lithium ion cells instead of NiMH rechargables, say 26500 cell (I believe it was 26500 :undecided: or something to that effect) which replaces the 3X AAA holder *perfectly*. Will still fit in correct voltage range, but will be MUCH faster to recharge.

VERY nice laser! But why only 900mA? I wouuld put 2x flexdrives in it @820mA each and put a nive efficient diode in it :) just my opinion :)

Short video:Iron Man Arc Reactor 445nm laser - YouTube
As for the batteries thats all I had on hand....I ordered a few 32600 cells but who knows when they will be here coming from China. I really dont care too much about output power, I have about a dozen > 1 watt 445nm lasers IMO it doesn't have to be capable of burning thing to be cool.

TRU DAT!! the "MOAR power" attitude is annoying :p

If power is not an issue, then why not use the single mode 445nm diodes? Clean dot, and better beam specs.

Like I said before this was not an anticipated build! Whatever I had on hand I used. Where can I get some single modes 445nm diodes?

BTW The dot is very clean.
