if your laser is a watt it's ok. but all the noobs calling the 445's 1 watt is stupid

It's probably because a lot of them don't have LPM's to measure their real output. So they just call it what the company they bought it from called it.

Although at this point, the term '1 watt' seems to be synonymous with the 445's.

1 What? 1,000 mWhats? So What?
Those of you experienced builders know 1,000 mW + !!!! Heat buildup in this range can be controled but not in a portable for any period.

When you get to class IV power -- who cares? Stop the stupid race.

That's great evidence in that thread though. One Arctic plot I've seen over 1,000mW! Wow! That makes it about 2% of the figures I've seen posted that actually meet the stated output.

Build your own. Here is an early test plot of mine. Further plots showed that even after 3 mins it was still above 1,000mW. After 6 minutes it only just dropped below. This for a host less than half the size of the Arctic.

Hey ho. Arctic's are still cool I guess. Do I like them and the quality? Not at all.

(This could be considered SPAM as I posted a very similar response in the thread linked above. I apologise)

I am very disappointed with my 1W 445nm.

Turns out it only produces 0.000000001 gigawatt.

Anyone know were I can buy a 1e+15 femtowatt diode?
