help, I think there may be a problem in the tailcap of my arctic since it keeps cutting in and out and it only happens when I play with the saftey pin. The only thing I can see is the two screws that hold the "safety tab" in place.

Have you tested the tail switch for continuity while "messing" with the components? It is better to test more than needed than to replace parts which have not failed. Even if it is in the tail cap, it could be the plug, the tab, or the switch. No one here can test it for you if it is in your hands

Peace,

no Dave, I just need to know how it comes apart. It has continuity as it sits but there is something loose

It's your laser . . .

It looks like it's pressed in.

Remove the clicky cover

Remove the plug

Remove the screws and the tap

Find a "socket" or pressing "tube" that will fit into the hole in the back, but will not touch the switch button

Place the tail cap on a solid surface with the button up

I would recommend some leather on the surface to protect the front of the tail cap.

Place the socket or tube into the hole at the rear (now facing up)

SMACK it with a hammer

Alternatively, you could use a vice to push the socket or tube into the tail cap which should push the switch out ;)

If that doesn't work, then I was wrong about it being pressed in :yabbem:

Peace,
dave

Try removing the 2 screws from the contact plug and checking to see if it is clean. I have pics on the review in my sig.
