Default How can I test at high powers without pressing the diode?

I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I could not locate the information easily.

What would be a good method to these 445nm diodes at high power levels like 1 watt, without pressing them into an aixiz housing or heatsink (and the obvious difficulty involved in removing them afterward)?

Obviously I can't just apply 1A to the bare diode due to the heat issue...

Check out this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f51/bu...ild-53972.html

If that doesn't work for you go up to search and put in "how to do a test load"

Never mind I read it wrong!

There are some heat sinks that set the diode using a threaded retaining ring.

O-like.com has them. Modwerx has them.

405nm/445nm laser module housing w/glasses lens [OL1845-BL] - $12.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Laser module w/ heatsink and AR coated glass lens (405nm) - $12.99 : Modwerx Shop

Note that for testing at high currents, you will need additional heat management if you plan to test it for more than a minute or so at a time.

Thanks. I just ordered one of those from modwerx.

As I re-read my original post, I see that I managed to leave out an important word. It looks like it was understood though.
