I still think he should buy if 1W 445 or heck even a 500mw is still pretty bright and powerful for a blue laser he should look on laserbtb as they have safety features too which is good to have, and i dont really trust the lasers on ali being of good quality inside, they are probably mass produced like hell and the quality varies like the cheap ebay pens but what do i know.. , if u want spend a little under 100$ for a laser its better buying from a known company and not getting ripped off.

And also alessnilsen you can connect your bank account to paypal and transfer money to the paypal account free with no need of credit card i have been doing this for many years when i buy stuff at ebay dx etc i wire money needed and after i have bought what i wanted i have like maybe 1$ in the account so even if someone hacked into my paypal account there is no credit card connected or much money to spend..

I'm checking with laserbtb if the itens that comes in aliexpress are the same that laserbtb sells.

Since laserbtb can't guarantee the output power of the product, I'm very tricky now:

Should I arrisk buying a generic product in aliexpress that comes with everything I will need (charger+batteries+goggles) to operate it?

Should I buy from laserbtb, paying more for a great product, but without batteries and glasses? (let's see, I can get 2X16340 for U$4.00 and goggles for U$5.00, charger I already have).

Jus't put your oppinion, It will help a lot.

How about you buy a custom one from someone here? Then you know you will get a guaranteed quality laser.

I was thinking about 1W 445nm from Blord, for U$90.00, but I don't know how much the shipping will be.

most laserbtb lasers are overspec so if you buy a blue 1W laser it will give you more then that for sure, peak will probably be like 1200mw or so... its your choice but i wouldnt buy the stuff aliexpress sells ,its probably crap that will break down fast too.. But if you ask me the laserbtb hosts are very nice, they have safety features which the lasers sold by customs here do not have.

Ok, I was thinking, how much a 445nm LD will cost? Maybe the most cheapest way to have a 445nm laser is to buy the LD and make my own laser with a LM317. I already made many 650nm lasers and I think I have all the knowledge needed.

What do you think? I found this LD:

Nichia NDB7412T 5.6mm 1W -> U$46.84.

With the lens and driver, and a DIY shell, will be much cheaper than buy a finished product.

Heck yea man, DIY is the way to go. You could also get a M140 from DTR, pre pressed in a module with leads. around the same price for the diode, and a little bit more for the module. The DIY driver will cost all of ~3$, so that leaves around 40$ to buy a host, which is plenty.

Thanks, I bought this housing/heatsink, including a glass lens and 5.6mm housing:



And this laser diode: Nichia NDB7412T 1W 445nm.

If the driver doesn't fit inside the heatsink, I'll use a LM317 at 1A.

I guess it will look like this:

why cant you make a paypal account and then buy from Blord, Sci-Fi Lasers , LaserBTB etc, paypal accounts are not that hard to create and once you make one then you wont have to lucky dip on Aliexppress

You can use a credit card/ prepaid card ext. Through For laserbtb. I ordered from them and i didnt have to make a paypal.
